The Wheels on the Bus

Sometimes metaphors can help us see things in a different light. Here’s a great example.

The next time you’re overwhelmed with distracting thoughts running through your head, picture yourself on a busy bus. You are the bus driver, and your passengers (or thoughts) are being critical, abusive, intrusive, shouting directions, and chattering nonsense.

It’s tough to stay focused on the road while listening to the passengers as they shout and chatter noisily. It may be time to tune some of the distractions out by moving your best passengers to the front of the bus.

Here’s the way I see it: Focus on the outcome, not the obstacle. If your print marketing materials need a refresh, our team is here to help make the transition smooth and exciting. And remember, other printers may be nearby, but nobody comes close.

Importance of Safety Margins
ENSURE YOUR TEXT STAYS WITHIN THE PRINTED AREA

Regardless of whether your print piece has a bleed (text or images that extend to the edge of a finished page), safety margins are very important to ensure your text stays within the printed area.

Safety margins are guides that should be located at least 1/8″ inside the cut line, depending on the size of the final design. If text goes beyond your safety margins, it can fall outside the mechanical tolerances of paper-cutting equipment and may get cut off inadvertently.

Safety margins can help your design look more professional and help prevent images and text from falling off the page.

While we recommend a minimum of 1/8” safety margin, the amount of margin is a personal choice and may be dictated by the type of print product and size of the final design.
